Hello and welcome to our little update. There have been some highs and some lows over the last few weeks so we wanted to bring you up to speed.
We're sad to be saying goodbye to Fruits of the Lune and Moghuls, both on King Street. Fruits of the Lune sold locally crafted arts and gift items over the last twelve months and have decided to move their services online where possible due to low footfall at their retail premises.
Moghuls, the family run indian restaurant, is also closing and we're deeply sad to lose them both. Every time a local, independent business is forced to close their doors the high street is a little less bright.
Vanity salon on Ullswater road has expanded their business by opening a barbers shop on Bowerham road. It's called "Bowerham Barbers" and they're offering cardholding gentlemen 10% off on their hair care needs. The salon itself is now no longer on Ullswater road, they are now mobile and providing hair services in the comfort of their customer's homes. They're offering 20% discounts to cardholders, or a free wash and cut with colour services.
Christmas is coming, and we wanted to remind you that there are some GREAT local businesses providing all kinds of wonderful gift ideas. The Lancaster Wine Company for example not only sells excellent quality wines, beers and spirits but they also sell locally sourced jams, chutneys, pates and other gorgeous farm shop items that are just perfect for foodies who love great tasting quality produce. They also sell empty hamper baskets that you can use to put together something really special for the festive season.
