With so many places closing down these days there was an initial panic and horror when we learned that Leonardini's, (the third generation traditional Italian gelato shop) was closing over the weekend. We were quickly relieved however when we found out that they were in fact just moving a few feet further up the road to larger premises. We're thrilled with the news! They posted on their Facebook page a touching message for their customers and to spread the good news about the move. We wish them all the best in the transition to their new shop in Kings Arcade, Lancaster.
On the Leonardini Facebook page they said:
"This Sunday will be our last day at 22 King Street!
We are so grateful for these 3 years on this premises. We had a dream and it came true in this place! Our Gelateria was awarded as the best of England only 6 months after opening. Our loyal customers have actually became friends that we see more often then our actual relatives...
We have seen pregnant gelato fans that then came with their babies and now the babies ask for their own cone...
It’s amazing to get in touch every day with so many people from different countries and backgrounds. They all share their taste for gelato and we are happy to be able to offer every day something nice and healthy, that makes people happy!
We’ll move to 3 Kings Arcade, just 3 doors away, because from now we want to offer you a bigger space with better facilities to enjoy gelato, coffee and other Italian specialties!
We are so grateful for your loyalty! And we are also so happy, because every scoop you enjoy, allows us to support breast cancer survivors!
We are sure you will like our new shop, because we are putting so much love in all this!
We expect to see you very soon at our new address, where gelato will continue making you happy!!!"
